American 1 Credit Union’s Carolyn Duncan Appointed to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter Board


Jackson, MI - American 1 Credit Union announced Chief Member Experience Officer, Carolyn Duncan recently joined the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Shelter in Jackson, MI.

The Jackson Interfaith Shelter, first opening in 1974, is a Michigan non-profit organization whose mission is to work with people experiencing homelessness by providing emergency shelter, preparing meals, and assisting with other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs when possible.

 

“Having positive, engaged community partners like American 1 helps our clients to learn important life skills, such as how to manage personal finances,” stated Thomas Hunsdorfer, President of the Interfaith Shelter Board. “Carolyn brings brains, experience, energy, and heart to our work. She will help our organization be a good steward of the resources that come our way while also helping to provide hope and affirmation to our clients.”

 

Through Financial Wellness class offerings to shelter residents provided by their Financial Wellness Department and multiple donations and sponsorships, American 1 has maintained a well-established partnership with the Jackson Interfaith Shelter.

Duncan, joining American 1 in November of 2021 as Chief Member Experience Officer, plays a crucial role in upholding the credit union’s mission of building financial wellness in the community through personal, everyday banking, starting with member experience.
