MICHIGAN’S LARGEST LIVING HISTORY EVENT SET TO TAKE PLACE THIS MONTH

JACKSON, MICHIGAN (AUGUST 2, 2024) – On Saturday & Sunday, August 24th & 25th, the Jackson Civil War Muster returns for its 37th year. This living history event, open to people of all ages, is held at Cascades Park, located at 1401 S. Brown St. Jackson, MI 49203.

The Jackson Muster is the largest, longest-running Civil War event in the Midwest, welcoming people of all ages. Each year, this event draws 15,000 to 22,000 fans from throughout Michigan, Canada and destinations as far as Sweden! The event encourages visitors to interact with over five hundred living historians by stepping back in time Under the Oaks, to experience the extravagant military ball, and witness the excitement of cavalry, artillery, and infantry all engaged for battle demonstrations each day.

On Saturday night, the “All American Military Ball" will be held at the Cascade Falls. At this unique 1860s period dance, people from across Michigan come together to join hands for a nineteenth-century grand gala. The evening activity will not only feature period dance, but it will also have a performance from the renowned Camp Chase Fifes & Drums Corps and the Ohio 2nd Cavalry Brigade Band. The ball will be held Saturday, August 24th at 7 pm with music by the Washingtonian String Band.

Thanks to Tripp's Auto Shop & Collision Center and other generous sponsors the event will continue to stay free to the public.
