Jackson— The Center for Family Health has opened a new community pharmacy drivethru, with two dedicated lanes for easy prescription pick up, conveniently located at their downtown location at 505 N Jackson Street and next to the newly remodeled walk-in clinic.

The pharmacy fills prescriptions and offers a wide range of services to meet the community’s health needs. Services include digital refill requests via the RxLocal app, refill requests by phone, and prescription text alerts when medications are ready for pick up through RxReady. Discounted over-the-counter medications and one-on-one pharmacist consultations are also available via phone, direct message through the RxLocal app, and in-person visits at the pharmacy.

“The opening of our new drive-thru pharmacy option gives our patients and the community a convenient and safe way to receive their medications,” said Sara Benedetto, Chief Operating Officer. “You don’t have to be a Center patient to use our pharmacy services, including the drive-thru. We invite our patients to take advantage of the competitive rates available to us through 340B Drug pricing for prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.”

The Center for Family Health Pharmacy accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Through the Center’s HealthPay, a sliding discount plan, prescription costs can be reduced for Center patients who are income-eligible.

Patients can utilize the pharmacy drive-thru to pick up their medications, curbside, or walk inside during business hours, all before leaving the Center’s campus from their medical appointment. The pharmacy and drive-thru are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m to 7 p.m.

“If your primary care doctor or the dentist prescribes a medication during your visit, you won’t have to go miles away to get your prescription filled,” said Rafael Chavez, R.Ph., Pharmacy Director. “Just walk in the lobby and visit our retail pharmacy or use the drive-thru located next to our Walk-In Clinic.”

Earlier this year, the Center for Family Health named Rafael Chavez as the new pharmacy director. He joined the Center on August 12th and oversees pharmacy operations and initiatives, which include the addition new pharmacy drive-thru. Chavez will lead more than 16 pharmacy professionals.

Rafael Chavez has held other leadership and pharmacy roles throughout their career, including various Pharmacy Manager positions at CVS Pharmacy, and served as a Pharmacy Manager at Rite Aid. Chavez received his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Santa Maria Catholic University with a focus on health-system pharmacy administration.

“Rafael Chavez is an innovative healthcare leader with vast experience in pharmacy operations,” Chief Executive Officer Bill Wypyski said. “Under his leadership, The Center for Family Health will continue the coordination of care with providers and enhance our services with automation, technology, and new drive-thru service.”
