“After the disruption of the pandemic, we emerged this past season with a full and dynamic slate of programming that attracted large audiences hungry to be reconnected with the creativity, joy, and inspiration that the performing arts bring to our lives,” said UMS president Matthew VanBesien. “As we approach 23/24, we fully recognize and are incredibly grateful that we live in a community that not only appreciates but actively demands a robust suite of vibrant programs. The mainstage events included here are just the tip of the iceberg — they serve as the catalyst for many more learning and engagement opportunities, our two Ypsilanti Freighthouse residencies in September 2023 and April 2024, and additional digital programs to be announced.”
