The Gala is Cascades Humane Society’s largest fundraiser of the year. As the name implies, it is a lovely evening out featuring dinner, musical entertainment, a silent auction, raffles, and a live auction featuring Tim Bos as the auctioneer. For the second year in a row, we will be hosting the Gala at the spectacular Cascades Falls and the evening will conclude with a light show.
All proceeds go directly to helping the homeless animals at Cascades Humane Society (CHS). CHS does not receive any government funding and therefore relies solely on donations from the community, whether it is through individuals, businesses, foundations or events like the Gala.
“We truly depend on the generosity of the Jackson community to ensure that the more than 1,400 animals that come through our doors are given all the care they deserve,” says Heather Leszczynski, Executive Director. “Each pet is spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccines, given parasite preventatives and given all the food, water, and love they need. All of this adds up to far more than our adoption costs, so every dollar donated goes a long way in accomplishing our mission of connecting animals in need with people who care.”
As in years past, CHS has put together a great selection of live and silent auction items. This year, many of the silent auction items will be visible for online bidding. The virtual auction will have between 30 and 40 baskets to bid on featuring a wide assortment, certain to appeal to a variety of tastes. “There will be something for your pet, something for the sports fanatics, unique experiences, and much more!” reports Leszczynski. “The ever-exciting live auction will have some returning favorites such as the coveted Face of the Gala and Leader of the Paws in the Park Pack, and new items such as a furnace from Lammer’s Heating and Air Conditioning. In addition, we will have some silent auction items and raffles in person to bid on while you are enjoying cocktails."
While your beloved pets cannot attend, you have an opportunity to honor your pet during the evening. You can purchase a Pet Tribute Honor Roll slide for just $10 each. These slides will run during the entire evening, allowing you to point out your loved one to everyone you meet.
CHS expects more than 200 guests. Tickets are $79 each through September 1st and then $99 after September 1st, and include dinner and an open bar. Tickets are limited in quantity. For tickets or to view the virtual auction, go to www.chspets.org/gala22.
